The Dee travelled to Kilraughts Road on Saturday 10th December to take on Ballymoney in Q1. As the league game earlier in the season had proved, Ballymoney are one of the top sides in the division and that game at Donaldson Park had been the narrowest home victory the Dee have had this season.
The Dee were without the unavailable Chris Schofield and Richard Martindale and a tight game was expected especially as a win for either side would mean that either Donaghadee maintained their position at the top of Q1 or the 'Toon' took over.
That's what it turned out to be. with a final score of 10 points each probably a fair result on the day - suffice to say this is the first time in manys a season that the Dee have brought anything back from Ballymoney.
The Dee try was scored by Ally Lockhart after sterling work from firstly Kalave Auali'itia and then Richard Millar. Elsewhere, Clogher Valley's win over Dromore now takes them level with the Dee at the top of the league on 35 points each.
