Three Donaghadee players had a major part in the Ulster Junior side’s 20-12 victory over Connacht in the Inter Provincial Championship last weekend in Ballina.
Chris Hamilton started in the No. 7 jersey, with Paul McKenzie and Phil Eadie joining him off the bench. Paul doubles up as Assistant Coach to the squad and all are to be congratulated on an excellent result against a side that have been the Inter Pro Champions for the past two seasons.
This Saturday the Championship continues at Coleraine RFC (ko 2:30pm) when the Ulster side take on Munster (who defeated Leinster 31-27 in their opening game last weekend). All support would be most welcome.
Annual Club Dinner 2013
The Annual Club Dinner will take place in the clubhouse at Donaldson Park on Saturday 11th May 2013 at 7pm and all those who are interested in attending are encouraged to contact Ian Fleming as soon as possible as places are going fast.
Goodbye!
The following Saturday evening (18th May 2013) there will be a party in the Clubhouse to say goodbye to our resident Kiwi Kalave Auali’itia and his fiancé Hannah Fleming.
Kalave has been with the club for the past two seasons, and as well as being a formidable player on the pitch Hannah & he have been extremely popular members of the club and the local community during their stay.
Kalave was, of course, a member of the Donaghadee 1st XV side that brought the Millar McCall Wylie Junior Cup to the Club in December 2011 as well as helping the side to a Top Four finish in each of the last two seasons in Kukri Qualifying One.
They will both be sadly missed around the Dee and the Club wishes them both every success and happiness back on the home “paddock” in New Zealand.

Match Photographs
You may have noticed the excellent photographs which are appearing in Facebook (both on our wall and as 'profile photos' for several of our players), and the local media - covering action from the Dee’s games. These are due to Kerry Wood whose husband Simon is a 3rds regular and whose children play in the Dee Youth Section.
Many thanks are due to Kerry from the club for her excellent efforts which are certainly helping to keep the Dee to the fore in all forms of media!
